Provided technical assistance on various materials-related issues for Indiana businesses and organizations. My projects included materials selection, corrosion, quality control, process improvements, and failure analysis.

Analysed and studied the effects of the microstructure on the oxidation behavior and mechanical properties of the multiphase Mo-Si-B alloys.

 

Graduate Research Assistant January 2001 - April 2001

Metals and Ceramics Division, Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Oak Ridge, Tennessee

Investigated, analyzed, and studied materials processing using arc-melting furnace, oxidation testing under an array of temperatures (600-1300 o C), and microstructure examinations using optical microscope, SEM, EDS, and WDS.

Provided technical supports on ceramic raw materials (ball clays, feldspar, and kaolin), rendered after-sell service, characterized materials, and developed new raw materials to satisfy the needs of customers.

Conducted research on problems in the production line.

Designed, developed and tested sanitaryware body and glaze formula for use in existing product line.
